Are You Letting Prospective Customers Taste You?

Over the weekend I was with my children at the mall shopping for something and looking for a bite to eat after a Sunday service.

We got what we came for and then went to the mall's food court to figure which of the 587 different options (not quite that many) of restaurants we wanted to go to.

For my children, it was pretty easy - they like Popeye's fried chicken. I like it as well, but I also like different food - every now and then.

Well I walked past each establishment and a Thai Restaurant was passing out samples of food. I tasted a sample and instantly knew I had to have the full plate.

While I don't believe that everyone in business must use the freemium concept - give away 80% of your product and convert a small percent to sales - I do think that you need to make a way for customers to get a sample of what you can do for them.

1. It builds trust
2. There are many other competing options
3. They can know that you are confident of what you do.
4. It builds lead generation
5. This creates built in and very low cost or free marketing
6. It makes everyone more comfortable

Have a great day today and let your customers and prospective customers TASTE YOU.

What a wonderful Tuesday it is!

Right now, I'm in the air on the way to the first of my 6 city Small Business Technology Tour - first stop San Francisco.

While I was eating lunch in Manhattan last week I noticed two food trucks (see pics above). One food truck had a long line - one did not.

One had built a brand in the community. One had differentiation. One was different. One stood out. One did not. Guess which was which.
