NOVEMBER It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is nearly here, is it just us or does it come earlier every year? | | Just had to share... This review from "Stephanie S." on Yelp.com: It's 9PM on a Friday night, and while the rest of my friends spend the evening sucking face with their significant others, gallivanting about town, or doing whatever 20-somethings are supposed to do on Friday nights, I'm curled up on the couch in my pajamas. With my cat by my side. Furiously typing up this Yelp review. Why, you ask? Well, it's mostly because I'm a loser. But I also happen to be a really nice girl who's obsessed with bread pudding, especially the bread pudding at Harvest. And this may be old news, but it's new to me, so just humor me, okay? HARVEST OFFERS THEIR BREAD PUDDING TO-GO! Oh baby. I knew there was a reason I bought a house that's less than 5 minutes away from Harvest. I just KNEW it. Do yourself a favor. Call Harvest. Order their bread pudding to-go. Pick it up (they package it in a cute little Chinese takeout box). Take it home. Crash onto your sofa, change into your jammies, catch up on some episodes of Breaking Bad, and dive into this GLORIOUS [stuff] face first. If this is wrong, I don't want to be right. Stephanie, we hope you never decide to be "right!" (and remember - A whole pan of Harvest's legendary Bread Pudding can be yours for a reduced price, perfect for family gatherings and business brunches.) | With the fantastic menu Chef Nick has dreamed up for our Thanksgiving Prix Fixe Dinner, we shouldn't be surprised to be nearly booked! But if you were thinking of joining us, please call 314-645-3522 and make your reservation because we can only accommodate another 40 people before we have to say, "I'm sorry, but we're sold out." And there goes your chance to have Chef Nick's amazing Turducken Terrene! Speaking of the Turducken Terrene, a lot of people were disappointed when the President's speech interrupted the KSDK Show Me St. Louis segment with Chef Nick showing off this unusual dish. It's okay, they are going to air it again this coming Monday at 12:30 on Channel 5. So tune in, or set your DVR, to see it start to finish! Check out the full menu below. In addition to the Turducken Terrene with Chestnuts, Toast and Huckleberry Mustard the Thanksgiving Menu at Harvest features two other fabulous starters followed by a selection of salads. For those who love tradition we're offering natural, local, free-range turkey with a leek and Chanterelle mushroom dressing. For those ready to break with tradition there's a tenderloin filet or wild-caught stripped bass. And for those who prefer to avoid meat altogether there is a vegetable-potato coconut curry. So many reasons to be thankful! Of course, the dessert offerings include the famous bread pudding. (Did you read the hilarious Yelp review in the sidebar? Stephanie, we know you are not a loser, and we're thrilled to have you as a neighbor!) There's also a fun and fabulous chocolate-covered banana pudding and in the best Thanksgiving tradition a pumpkin pie, this one with a ginger snap crust and candied ginger ice cream. We know the Pilgrims and their Native American guests would be so envious, but you don't have to be. You can come in and join us, or, if your family would never forgive you for skipping turkey at Grandma's, you can make them love you forever by showing up with a pan of the bread pudding! And finally, we had a great time and were excited to be part of a great cause, at the St. Louis Originals Fall Food Frenzy Charity Dinner, which benefited ALS, Missouri Chapter. That's Chef Nick seasoning his Duck Cassoulet (which got rave reviews!) There were 29 other independently owned St. Louis Originals restaurants serving up fine food and tasty drinks at the Fall Food Frenzy which was held at Monarch Restaurant in Maplewood. If you missed it this year we hope you'll join us next time! We have so much to be thankful for every day, and not least on our list is the opportunity to be part of initiatives like this, supporting independent restaurant owners and community charities that make a difference in so many lives! We're thankful for the passion of our regional farmers who provide us with the healthy ingredients that we showcase on our tables every day. We're thankful for our friendly, loyal staff who provide exceptional experiences for our customers. We're thankful for our own health and for the three beautiful, healthy children who keep us entertained and fill our hearts with love. And of course, we're thankful for YOU! Hoping you all have a Happy Thanksgiving. Sincerely, Nick and Krissie Miller | LOVE HARVEST? SHARE US ON YOUR PAGES We love you too!
