Supriya Dwivedi: Generation Y: Politically Engaged and Enraged
2012-11-19-slavkoaskingybanner.jpg The GOP shot themselves in the foot by taking far-right stances on issues that millennials are fed up with defending. A woman's right to choose, access to contraception, healthcare as a basic right, and marriage equality are all issues that my generation sees as a given. The right-of-centre movement risks losing this entire generation of voters if it does not compromise on social issues that my cohort considers basic human rights. Millennials are a politically engaged generation. We know what is important to us, and what isn't. Perhaps it's about time politicians listened.
Kathleen Rea: How My National Ballet Career Led to Bulimia
At ten, I was accepted into the National Ballet School of Canada training program. In puberty I developed curves that were considered too fat for the ballet world. I decided to diet my curves away, as the accolades in ballet went to girls who looked deathly thin. But my calculated "career move" soon became my nightmare. I became borderline anorexic and then bulimic. After dieting intensely for days, a famished "creature" would seize control, and an intense desire to eat would overcome my willpower.

Our small steps toward efficiency and intensity do not bring us closer to our goal. As the Red Queen so famously put it, "It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place." And we are not running very fast. As the world began to gather in Doha for COP 18, scientists and investors attempted to make this starkly apparent.
Erika Katz: Don't Let Your Teens Text Something They'll Regret
The cyber world is new territory and for now, parents must improvise when dealing with these modern obstacles to raising a teen. Between the new culture of sexting and social media sites like Facebook, teen self-worth is in danger. Here's how you can help your child navigate the cyber world.
Ralph Goodale: What Harper Could Do With the Budget -- But Isn't
The Harper Conservatives will force another odious "Omnibus Budget Bill" through the House of Commons this week. For all the verbiage in this budget legislation, the Conservatives are doing little of consequence to deliver what Canadians really need -- i.e., more economic growth and less inequality.
