This holiday reminder is not about profits

Dear Investment U Reader, Happy Christmas Season to you! I hope this email finds you and your family full of holiday cheer. When the festivities subside, and you find yourself organizing finances for the coming year, here's a gentle reminder: Please give to your favorite "good cause," especially this year, while donations are down for charities, and while you can still take the tax deduction. I know many people are skeptical of a charities' tax-free status. But I'm a firm believer that our skepticism should be focused on government "aid," not charities. If you've ever been on the Board of a 501(c)3 non-profit, you know it has have to operate like many for-profit businesses - efficiently and effectively, if it's going to survive. If you don't have a favorite charity, please consider this one. This model private health clinic is more than just a clinic... it is saving lives and teaching people how to be healthier. We support this organization at the Club because they're highly effective at improving impoverished people's lives, with very little administrative overhead.
