| Frequently Asked Questions About The Expeditions
Q. Do I drive myself? A. Yes we caravan out so that each party can leave on their own schedule. Many of our rock hounds bring kids, plan on camping before or after, etc.
Q. Can I keep what I find? A. YES! That's the whole point in going, isn't it? Some mines have limits on how much we can take or the size of pieces we're allowed to remove. But we work hard to make sure the mines we arrange to go see are reasonable and will allow us to enjoy the trip to its fullest! Q. Can I bring children? A. Yes! These are family outings! There are only two trips with age restrictions, and this is for the safety of the children. Gold Hill and the Turquoise Trips both have safety and comfort concerns for small children. We will not taken anyone under 12 to Gold Hill. We will leave the Turquoise trip up to you but there is no shade, and we are a long ways away from the nearest town. The rest of the trips are designed for families! Q. What if I can't make it after reserving tickets? A. Please contact us as soon as you know that you will not be able to attend. Since we have to prepay the owners for each ticket that is reserved, we cannot offer refunds on trips. However, we try hard to work with anyone in this situation to see if we can transfer their paid tickets to a different trip, etc. The sooner we know, the more time we have to figure out something.
Q. Can I Bring My Dog? A. No. Unfortunately these are private mines, and the owners of the land do not allow us to bring ANY animals. No dogs, cats, ferrets, etc. Also, it is often too hot to safely leave animals in your car. For this reason we have a strict no animal policy. If you bring your animals/pets you will be asked to leave the site. Happy Rock Hounding This Summer!
