Tech Companies Continue to Draw Ire from Europe over Privacy Protection Laws

Search Supergiant Google (News - Alert) faces the threat of substantial fines and legal action from several European countries, including the U.K., France and Germany for refusing to change its privacy settings it made over a year ago.


In the last year, Google has essentially refused European Union countries requests for the protection of data.

According to the U.K. newspaper, the Guardian, Google has infuriated regulators by declining to respond to their demands made over multiple months – and research shows that user concerns about online privacy are high. France’s privacy body known as ‘CNLI,’ along with its counterparts in other counties, have banded to together and announced their intention to take legal action that would involve a probe and legal fines.
