Twitter to allow Promoted Tweet targeting by keywords, phrases Twitter is allowing advertisers to bid on specific tweeted keywords that they could then target with Promoted Tweets. Twitter's variation on keyword bidding includes filters for negative sentiment as well as bidding on specific phrases -- taglines, for example. "We're layering in the who and the elements of connection we have on Twitter with the when and the intent people are expressing when they tweet," says Kevin Weil, senior director of product for revenue.
