| Artist of the Month: Karrin Allyson ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ April's Artist of the Month, Karrin Allyson, is rightly considered one of the premier performers in Jazz today. To date, Karrin Allyson has recorded twelve additional studio albums and has been regarded as the premier female jazz vocalist of her generation. Legendary jazz critic Gary Giddens notes, "Allyson coolly stakes her claim. She brings a timbre that is part ice, part grain - incisive, original, and emotionally convincing." Read More... Her music will be showcased during all of April here at WICN. She also performs live in Worcester, MA at the Tuckerman Hall on Friday, May 3 @ 8PM. Tickets are available by calling WICN Public Radio at (508) 752-0700 or online at wicn.org. |
