2013 US Youth Soccer Region III Presidents Cup Begins Thursday

FRISCO, Texas (June 6, 2013) –The 2013 US Youth Soccer Region III Presidents Cup kicks off Thursday in Decatur, Ala. Teams from US Youth Soccer Region III (South) will compete from June 6-9 to earn a spot in the 2013 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup.  

The tournament will feature 130 US Youth Soccer boys and girls teams in the Under-13 through Under-17 age groups, competing for a regional title, and a berth to the 2013 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, July 10-14 in Auburndale, Fla.  

The Region III Presidents Cup will begin with preliminary games from Thursday, June 6 through Saturday June 8. Semifinal matches will take place from Saturday, June 8 through Sunday, June 9. Regional champions will be crowned following final matches on Sunday, June 9. Games will take place at the Spirit of America Fields and the Jack Allen Complex.

Alabama Youth Soccer Association will host the event, and the other 11 State Associations represented include Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Texas and Tennessee.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for teams seeking additional challenges to play for a national title against teams of similar abilities. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.
