Hi Guitarist,

I had the pleasure of catching the G3 show a few years
ago. It was Joe Satrini, of course... With Steve
Vai and blues prodigy Kenny Wayne Sheppard.

It was probably the most mindblowing concert I ever
witnessed.

Anyway, after the show my friend persuaded me to
wait out back in hopes of getting Satch's autograph.

Well, that never happened.

But we did catch a glipse of Kenny Wayne. He
came out and was giving a few people high-fives
over the waist-high security gate, which basically
looked like a long bicycle rack.

I was a few feet back and wanted to be part of
the action. Kenny Wayne really kicked butt on stage
and I was pretty excited to give him a high-five too.

So I "rushed" toward the gate about to give him a high
five and he must have gotten freaked out because he
jumped back in fright.

I actually didn't even notice because I was too excited,
but my friend who was watching says I "scared the crap
out of him."

Kenny Wayne, if you're out there reading this, sorry man...
I didn't mean to freak you out, lol.

Anyway, it's just another interesting episode in
the life and times of the Johnsonator...

I got more juicy stories about other legends which
I'll tell you about sometime soon.

P.S. By the way, Kenny Wayne Sheppard is a GREAT player and
and a perfect example that you don't need to play fast or
be technical to sound amazing. All you need is "guitar control".
