Shared vacation details leave people vulnerable, survey finds
More than one-quarter of people in the U.K. post information to their social networks that makes it clear when they're going to be out of their homes in the evening, and about 1 in 10 post detailed information about the length and location of overseas trips, according to an Esure survey. That leaves people at risk for burglaries as crooks increasingly monitor social networks in order to select their victims, says Esure's Nikki Sellers. "You don't know just who could be watching on social media or listening to your plans, so it's important not to give too much detail away," Sellers says.
