DiResta: Mounted Moose Antlers

In each episode of DiResta (every other Wednesday at 2pm PT), artist and master builder Jimmy DiResta (Dirty Money, Hammered, Against the Grain, Trash for Cash) lets us into his workshop, to look over his shoulder while he builds whatever strikes his fancy. Robotic Coffee Pour-Overs Coming to World Maker Faire

One day in the near future there may be as many 3D printing shops as there are ink and paper printing shops. If the owners of these shops are smart they'll offer coffee and snacks so people will hang around to chat and talk shop. When they're ready I've got just the coffee maker for them: Pour Steady.

Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire: A Look Back

There were so many things to see at Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire this past weekend Throughout the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and the adjacent Buhl Community Park, makers showcased their creations that ranged from The Spark Truck and mechanical sequencers to 3D Printers and laser cutters to giant, whimsical bubbles and stuffed animals made using e-textiles. There were crafts to create and purchase, art to make, cars to race—and food trucks! Families and lots of makers attended this year's mini Maker Faire, with a total of more than 1,800 guests.

Removing Galvanization With Acid

Steel conduits' galvanization layer, designed to inhibit corrosion, is highly toxic and will burn off in an environmentally uncool manner when welded, and also makes for a "not so great" weld. The solution? Burn it off with acid.
