AUGUST 24TH, 2013 March on Washington 50th Anniversary AS YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW... August 28, 2013 marks 50 years since the March on Washington. Everyone has a chance to commemorate MLK each year with his birthday. Yet, this day in 1963 really set the course for change with the Civil-Rights Movement. Fast-forward, in celebration of this amazing platform; I hope you'll plan to join me, Bonnie Johnson, by tuning in for Jazz on National Public Radio ~ Streaming online and on your mobile device @ wicn.org this Saturday, August 24th, 4pm. We invite you to tune in for this very special episode of Colors of Jazz. If only for music, I'll be interviewing a jazz pianist from my cohort by the name of Marc Cary. Our talk about his latest project which is dedicated to the late Jazz Legend Abbey Lincoln will air simultaneous with Saturday's March. Also, please plan on attending Marc's solo piano concert at: Scullers Jazz Club/Boston-Cambridge Thursday, August 29th, 2013. Ticket information @ Scullersjazz.com |
