I am excited and honored to let you know that I have been selected to receive Project Enterprise's 2013 Inspiration Award, which will be presented at the Charles B. Benenson Entrepreneur Awards Gala on Thursday, October 24, at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
The Benenson Awards Gala honors women, men and businesses who are courageous, inspiring leaders and role models, and also allows Project Enterprise (http://www.projectenterprise.org/) to showcase the trailblazing small businesses that are creating jobs and strengthening communities all over New York City.
As an entrepreneur, author and technology evangelist, you know I have been passionate about helping small businesses grow by using technology as a strategic asset. I have written thousands of articles, spoken to thousands of business owners and impacted hundreds of thousands of small businesses to help their businesses thrive, using technology. I have seen how many emerging businesses can get to the next level when they harness the power of technology; and that is why I am so humbled and delighted to be Project Enterprise's 2013 Inspiration Award winner.
Since 1997, Project Enterprise has educated, empowered and developed entrepreneurs and small businesses in under-resourced communities of New York City. By providing access to business loans, business development services, and networking opportunities, Project Enterprise helps entrepreneurs increase their standard of living, create jobs for their communities, and build financial assets. Over the past 16 years, Project Enterprise has distributed more than $2 million in microloans, with an average loan size of just $2,500. These member entrepreneurs generate over $5 million in revenue that goes back into the community.
