Presenter: Adam Andreassen, PsyD With the 2013 publication of the DSM-5 comes much uncertainty, handwringing, and controversy. The new manual is the product of a 12 year revision process and includes many philosophical and diagnostic revisions. This presentation will focus on summarizing the specific diagnostic changes, identifying philosophical adjustments, and clarifying likely short and long-term implications for patients, clinicians, and administrators. The workshop will also briefly focus on current controversies surrounding the DSM-5 and discuss the potential impact on its use and adoption in clinical practice.
