Next Year Is Our Birthday! An outdoor community festival, reenactment of St. Louis’ founding fathers arriving on the Riverfront and a region-wide birthday celebration are key events being planned for the Gateway City’s 250th birthday next year. The yearlong celebration kicks off with the First Night 2013/2014 holiday bash. This family-friendly carnival includes non-stop entertainment, fireworks, hands on activities for the kids and adults, plus a healthy dose of merriment to ring in the New Year and St. Louis’ birthday! Yes, St. Louis Has It All ... even skiing! Visitors can hit the St. Louis slopes during a visit to the Hidden Valley Ski Resort which is located 45 minutes West of downtown. The resort has added 30 percent more skiable terrain, tubing at that Polar Bear Plunge and a four-person ski lift. Hidden Valley is a great day out with friends, an exciting date (there's a midnight session) or a fun family activity. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! If it doesn’t, no worries as the resort makes its own fluffy, white stuff – now how do you like those apples or should we say snowballs! Getting All “Outdoorsy” America’s Center convention complex will host the 37th Annual St. Louis RV Vacation & Travel Show, January 9-12. It is one of the largest public RV shows in the country which features more than 300 units, including Motorhomes; Sport Trailers; 5th Wheel Trailers; Travel Trailers; Folding Camping Trailers and more. Campgrounds, resorts, travel destinations, service booths and products for the consumer are also featured. This is the perfect opportunity for both RV enthusiasts and newcomers to find out more about what’s offered and to pick up a great deal on the spot! HELP! Be sure to have the freshest flowers, a variety of supplies you may need, and a talented photographer to capture the beauty and magic of your special day.
