Yahoo Acquisition of PeerCDN Expands WebRTC Beyond Google - WebRTC World

Yahoo has been making major moves to vamp up its content strategy, and it is continuing that momentum with the acquisition of PeerCDN, a content delivery network provider that aims to make the Web faster and more reliable, while helping websites reduce bandwidth costs - the company claims it can reduce bandwidth costs by up to 90 percent by creating a peer-to-peer network.
Blue Jeans Network, "a video-centric collaboration service in the cloud," makes meetings mobile, productive and cost-efficient by allowing people to meet face-to-face from anywhere. It recently announced its State of the Modern Meeting Report, which demonstrates how technology is reshaping meetings throughout the world. It's an interesting read and suggests that we are in transition in our attitudes and our devices with a 400-percent increase in the use of cloud-based solutions.
It landed a judge's choice consideration on the first night of demonstrations at the WebRTC III Conference and Expo. It followed up that early distinction by netting the Best All Around award during Tuesday night's events. All this from a company called Requestec. The demonstration it put together for the WebRTC III Conference and Expo was definitely one to see.
