A forgotten practice method + 5 blues licks in D

hey Guitarist,

Happy Saturday... It's another blessed day
in the life. I'm taking my lady out for
breakfast and then she has to do a few
things to help her mamma, so that gives
me some extra guitar time today....moohahaha.

I have some cool lessons for you today,
but I also want to share an interesting
practice tip.

I was talking with Silvio Gazquez this morning,
who's one of our teachers here at Guitar Control
about the topic of guitar practice.

I asked him "Hey Silvio, what was one of
the things you did in the early days
to keep yourself in the practicing groove
on a daily basis"?

He told me:

"mm playing along radio, cds, etc..
that helped me a lot for being able
to play in any key and developing your ears.
So once i learnt a lick i´d try to apply it
over every song i was playing along..."

I was like "woah... I used to practice
a lot with the radio too."

I haven't practiced that way in a long
time, but I think its a GREAT way
to get your improvisation chops going.

Kind of a forgotten guitar method but
it works!
