| | | | | | | | | | | | Cashing in on the $16.1 Billion Military Spending Spree The Iraq War may be over and the war in Afghanistan may be winding down—but the Pentagon is about to unleash a $16.1 billion spending spree. Recently, there was a little-reported congressional testimony by the NSA director that all but predicted America's new war could kick off any day now. We believe this could happen as early as March 31, 2014. Click here now to learn about this staggering event that could turn now-small companies into large Fortune 500-type behemoths like Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon. | | | | | | | | | | | Addison Wiggin, plucking a note out of the DR's mailbag... "The debt cannot and will not be paid, period, so just stop talking about it," cordially writes one of our readers. As far as we can tell, he was replying to Thursday's Reckoning. "Don't you think it is just a bit late to talk of cutting spending, balancing the budget and all that tripe?" he continues. "There is no reason that we cannot turn the economy around on the proverbial (silver) dime. How, you ask? No problem. Two years of martial law. Hundreds of trials for treason. Executions, a couple of score. "This is not an answer for pansies or other cowardly persons. Martial law scare you? Not those that have served. Instead of being a country on the way to ruin by the perpetrators of Agenda 21 and other very ignorant ideas, we would become the shining light on the hill that we were for one hundred years. We just need leaders that are motivated by doing good works, not the evil, greedy bastards that are now in charge." Whoa. Leaders motivated by doing good? Heh. Why don't you wish for the rule of law… sound money… and peace on Earth while you're at it? The point we were making was that more debt over time hasn't meant more growth. We pointed it out in the spirit of Dr. Kurt Richebacher, who, perhaps you noticed, was the common thread tying our Daily Reckonings together this week. We revisited the good doctor's work for an important reason -- he embodies the difference between wishful and independent thinking. Kurt was very passionate about his ideas. We asked him, in calmer moments, why he was that way. He said that the root of his analysis came from a very rigorous digging of the data itself. He didn't necessarily listen to the media. He didn't listen to the other analysts who were trying to apply Keynesian theory or Austrian theory or even Minskian theory. He was trying to figure out on his own what these imbalances represented and how they got created, and then how that would inform his own investments. His approach serves as an inspiration for our Daily Reckonings. Below, you'll find our top-five essays. Each revisits Dr. Richebacher's life and work. Please take few minutes to explore each... | | | | | | | | | | | | Is Obama Terrified of the "Secret $200 Retirement Blueprint?"

What would he have made of all this -- the crash…the bailouts…the QEs…the Twists…? We wondered…we drank… And then, from nowhere, we heard his teutonic voice..." DISPROVING RICHEBACHER 2/6/14 "With that complaint and his fiery spirit firmly in mind… we take the pulse of the U.S. economy in this week's Daily Reckonings. This comes five years after the mainstream insisted a "recovery" got underway…" TRADE AND SPECULATIVE FLOWS 2/6/14 "That's not a healthy development for the dollar, but right now a reversal of speculative capital flows back to the US (going through the dollar to get there) is masking this looming structural issue..." THE FOUR PILLARS OF POVERTY 2/5/14 "My friends who own independent small money management firms are being forced to close down their businesses, merge, or sell to larger financial institutions because of increased regulation..."
RESTRUCTURING THE U.S. ECONOMY - DOWNWARDS 10/26/06 "There have been major changes in the U.S. economy's pattern of employment and resource allocation, but altogether changes for the worse, not for the better. These structural changes are bound to depress U.S. economic growth in the long run." | | | | | | | | | | | | The Last Legal Currency Loophole in America In short, we've just uncovered what could be the safest (and easiest) investment idea we've ever found.
