Call on Dunkin' Brands Not to Run on Deforestation

Join us in our national week of action as we call on Dunkin' Brands to adopt a strong deforestation-free palm oil sourcing policy.

ACTION ALERT
Your Actions Are Making a Difference on Palm Oil!

Dear UCS supporter,

After hearing from tens of thousands of consumers last month, Dunkin' Brands, the parent company of Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, has indicated that it is planning to release a zero deforestation palm oil policy this May.

As you know, thousands of food products—including some produced by Dunkin' Brands—contain palm oil. When tropical forests are cleared to make way for palm plantations, carbon is released into the atmosphere, driving global warming and shrinking habitat for endangered species. Tropical deforestation currently accounts for about 10 percent of the world's heat-trapping emissions.

While Dunkin' Brands is poised to lead the fast-food industry for responsibly sourcing palm oil, it has been promising to release a new policy for nearly a year.

The company's annual shareholders meeting is just a week away, so UCS and partners are coordinating a national week of action, calling on Dunkin' Brands to be true to its word. We're taking our message to the company at its retail locations, via social media, and at its shareholder meeting.

  • Post on Twitter using using Dunkin' Brands' own hashtag to say: #MyDUNKIN would be deforestation-freeIf you're not on Twitter, share on your social network of choice; just be sure to add #MyDUNKIN to your message, to deliver the message about deforestation-free palm oil to both Dunkin' Brands and its customers.
  • Live near a Dunkin' Donuts or Baskin-Robbins? Drop off our #MyDUNKIN would be deforestation-free letter with the manager of your local store.

Together, we can persuade Dunkin' Brands to purge deforestation from its supply chain.

Take Action

Sincerely,
Sharon Smith signature
