Cloud security took center stage this week as leading global service providers announced services and platforms designed to make cloud computing safer. A quick recap: Deutsche Telekom's T-Systems began offering flat-rate, secure enterprise cloud with an additional compliance layer; AT&T launched a cloud security solution for any size business across wired, roaming and mobile technologies; and Verizon announced its new secure cloud interconnect service, which securely connects multi-cloud environments around the globe. Love staying connected when you're flying through the clouds? In-flight Wi-Fi is coming to a carrier near you. GoGo Wireless announced a deal that will bring in-air connectivity to planes in Air Canada's fleet. Across the Atlantic, Vueling will become the first European company to offer highspeed broadband in the sky, thanks to a deal with Telefonica that leverages Eutelsat's Ka-band satellites. Be sure to check out the latest issue of Pipeline, which examines strategies and tools to support the effective monetization and delivery of video, content, and gaming. Last but not least, nominations are still open for Pipeline's 2014 COMET Innovation Awards, and the pot has been sweetened with a prize package worth more than $50,000. Nominate today!
