Granted, for many mobile app developers right now, native app development is still pretty much the king of the jungle. Developing an app for, say, iOS and then turning around to make the necessary changes to bring that same app out for Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and the like is still a pretty common course of action. So why would anyone want to start developing in HTML5? A new report from Tech Cocktail shows there are some excellent reasons to tap HTML5 for mobile app development.
YUDU has released a new solution designed to engage readers on mobile devices with high-resolution reading. The app, called PageTiler, simulates a physical magazine stand.
Debuted earlier this year at CES, CloudTV AdCast makes use of that: it enables interactive TV ads to be rendered in the cloud, streamed regardless of graphics, memory and processing power of devices, and allows the content to be navigated via existing remote controls.
When Adobe's PhoneGap brought HTML5 hybrid apps to mobile devices, developers hailed it for the simple reason that they could write cross-platform code that was re-usable, but there was a drawback - app development was slow. Not anymore - with AppGyver's Steroids, creating mobile apps using HTML 5 promises to be a breeze.
Espresso Logic, a Silicon Valley-based startup providing on-demand access to enterprise data with its innovative, cloud-based Espresso service, recently introduced a new HTML5 product coined as Live Browser.
