 USO Supporter, I’ll never forget serving in the Afghan desert. No words can describe the heat or the dust caked on your face. The days are long and hard. But in the middle of the tedium and tension, there were these amazing moments: USO staff handing me a phone to talk with my loved ones or welcoming me to a Fourth of July celebration a world away from home. Each time, the USO was there for me, saying, “Thanks for serving.” Those moments kept me going. The USO is dedicated to providing that experience to every serviceman and woman – whether they’re recovering at our USO center in Bethesda, serving in Kandahar or stationed in Korea. That's why we need to raise $116,000 for our "Fund the Fourth for Our Troops" campaign – to ensure that our troops can celebrate Independence Day at USO centers across the globe. But we only have until July 3 - please, give what you can right away. Wherever they are, our troops deserve to celebrate the Fourth of July. They’re the ones who volunteer their lives to protect our American way of life. But we can’t give them this gift – this break from the hard struggle they face every day – without your immediate support. This is your opportunity to honor their service and say thanks through the USO. Help us give our troops an Independence Day they’ll never forget.
