| Nestled deep in the valley of the Palo Pinto Mountains lies Possum Kingdom Lake. This massive reservoir, created by damming the Brazos River, is unlike any other lake in Texas. At it's midpoint lies the infamous Hell's Gate, a rock formation adjacent to Devil's Island, which is full of as much beauty as it is folklore. On June 6 & 7 this amazing landscape will become an international sports venue as twenty-two of the world's best high divers will descend on Hell's Gate for the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Championship. Fourteen men and eight women will vie for the victory and a chance at being crowned the world's best high diver. Event is free and open to the public. Venue only reachable by water. Must have water access (boat, personal watercraft, etc) to view event.
