| Dallas Observer Best of Dallas® Nominations NOW – August 6 There's been a lot of talk around town lately about building the next model of Dallas. "New urbanism," it's called, and it's about a future Big D that's livable, lively and filled with interesting people. In other words, it's a lot like today. Maybe we're just a bunch of old urbanists at heart, but we think this year's model has plenty going for it already. That's why we're putting together our 2014 Best of Dallas® issue. It's exciting to dream about what the city might become, and the future seems bright. But that's not surprising. When you start with a solid foundation of great restaurants, amazing shops, entertaining bars and a thriving arts scene, building a model city is a snap. Dallas already has all the pieces right out of the box, and you'll be able to find them in Best of Dallas®. Of course, we've never built a model anything without missing a few pieces here and there, so we'd love to hear from you about any special spot we might have overlooked. Just drop us a hint in our readers' poll. The first round of voting to nominate your favorites ends August 7. Fill in your top choices, then come back to this site beginning August 14 to pick the winners from your nominees for Best of Dallas® 2014. |
