4th of july, licks from Vai, my oh my

hey Guitarist,

I've always enjoyed the 4th of July
since I was a kid.  We used to buy
fireworks and set them off on our
street.  The big shows were cool too.

I guess it satisfies my inner pyromaniac :)

July 4th is the "birthday" of America, and
The Star Spangled Banner is our national
anthem. 

Not sure I need to point out the obvious,
but some people may be overseas, plus
you'd be surprised at what kids don't
know these days ...lol.

Now, continuing on the educational rant
here... Jimi Hendrix (the most influential
rock guitar player ever) made history
by his psychedelic, distortion-drenched
version of the Star Spangled Banner at
the Woodstock festival.

It is amazing... However, since many
of you have heard that before, I want
to share a different take on it, from
Mr. Steve Vai -- one of the greatest
guitar virtuosos of our time.
