Move over fiber-optic technology, copper transmission lines aren't ready to fade into history yet. Bell Labs announced this week that its new technology can achieve 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) transmission speed over traditional copper cable. According to the company, its XG-FAST technology offers gigabit speeds using two pairs of bonded copper line of 30m in length.
Integra, provider of fiber-based, carrier-grade networking, communications and technology solutions, is all set to acquire World Communications, Inc. (WCI). The company entered into an agreement in this regard.
