The results will demonstrate the scale of the issue of hunger in our country and the reach of the work the Feeding America network achieves. Conducted every four years by Feeding America since 1993, Hunger in America 2014 provides statistically-valid data on the Feeding America nationwide network of food banks. This, in turn, helps us develop programs that best support hungry Americans.   Learn more from our research» Share this: Get Ready for Hunger Action Month™ September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide campaign mobilizing the public to take action on the issue of hunger. Organized by the Feeding America nationwide network of food banks, the campaign brings greater attention to the issue of hunger in America and promotes ways for individuals everywhere to get involved with the movement to solve it. Share this     Feeding Families, Fueling Hope We are proud to partner with Family Dollar on their first national cause campaign – Feeding Families, Fueling Hope. It will raise awareness and funds to fight hunger. They will encourage their customers across all 8,000+ of their stores nationwide to donate one dollar at the register to support their local food bank. Incentives have also been created to encourage employees to support the program. Donate $1 at your local Family Dollar to help provide 9 meals to local hungry kids and families. Program runs August 1 to August 31, 2014. I Had It All Melinda Texas "I had it all, I really did. I had a great job, a big townhome and three kids who got nearly everything they wanted. Then one day, I had tremendous pain in my side and I went to the hospital. By the time I had arrived, I could barely breathe. The doctors found a tumor that had finally crushed my lungs. It was cancer. I was immediately hospitalized and stayed that way for three months."
