Unlikely Match-Up: Jack Skellington vs. the Other Mother He's a master of fright and a demon of light, and he'll scare you right out of your pants! Jack Skellington is the hero of The Nightmare Before Christmas and a musical master of horror whose boredom with Halloween causes him to seek out a new holiday to make his own. Jack is quick-witted, intelligent, and exceedingly nimble. He is, by his own admission, a master when it comes to scaring others and his reputation is well-deserved: in a town full of monsters, every one of them respects or fears Jack to some degree. The Other Mother is the main villain of the story Coraline. Also a mistress of terror, the Other Mother is a frightening figure who lures unhappy children to her realm and consumes their lives. She can change her shape, initially appearing as a loved one, but her true form is much more monstrous and twisted. The greatest difference between the two is that Jack has a good soul, while the Other Mother has long since lost her humanity (if she ever had any to begin with). As such, Jack would not hesitate to battle her, should any of his friends or innocents be put in serious jeopardy. So when these two forces of terror meet, who would win: the skeletal master of fright, or the motherly eater of souls? Vote Now Do you have an idea for an Unlikely Match-Up you would like to see?
