FW: USO Mission: Recovery

Important message from Joan Jett.

Did you see this week’s message from Joan Jett? I’m sending it to you again because she really has something important to say.

From Oklahoma to Okinawa, Joan Jett has been on the frontlines supporting our troops for more than 30 years, and now she’s championing USO Mission: Recovery, a campaign to fund and operate our two state-of-the-art USO Warrior and Family Centers

USO
Support our wounded, ill and injured troops through Mission: Recovery.

I’ve toured all over the world, and I’ve just about seen it all.

But nothing is more meaningful than visiting our wounded troops and hearing their stories. That’s why I’m asking for your help today.

Right now, there are thousands of troops suffering from visible wounds and debilitating emotional and mental injuries from the last decade of war – each deserving every ounce of care we can muster.

The USO alone can’t reach every injured troop in need, but if you donate to USO Mission: Recovery right now, we will be able to continue funding our USO Warrior and Family Centers.

These centers are designed specifically for wounded troops and their families. They are homes away from home where our injured servicemen and women receive support, can work towards recovery and leave rehabilitated – with zero cost for troops or their families.

The USO has set a fundraising goal of $285,000 before midnight Dec. 12 to continue serving the more than 10,000 individuals who flow through these centers on a monthly basis, and they can’t do it without your gift today.

Join me in supporting our troops with a tax-deductible donation of $10 or more now to help us continue to provide world-class services for our wounded troops and operate our USO Warrior and Family Centers.

As you know, “I love rock ‘n’ roll”, and I love the music rooms built by the USO in both centers to encourage troops and their families to use music along their path to healing. But guitar strings break. Chairs need to be replaced. Supplies need replenishing.

Nothing we can do will ever repay the debt we owe our men and women in uniform, but we can try every day through small acts of kindness and care.

With the holidays fast approaching, a gift to Mission: Recovery is one of the best ways you can give back to troops who were injured defending our freedom and their families, who often carry the burden of care when they come home.

As one of the only non-government charities supporting wounded active-duty servicemen and women, the USO is uniquely positioned to offer care during the lengthy and challenging transition back into civilian life.

That’s why we’ve got to hit $285,000 before midnight Friday, and we won’t get there unless you respond today. Let’s dig deep, and get this done for our troops.

Click here to give before the midnight Dec. 12 deadline. Together, we can help our heroes recover from the physical and emotional scars of war.

Keep Rockin'

Joan Jett
