How to cheat at guitar + hot pentatonic lick Hey, Claude here and its another day in the life.  I have so much exciting stuff to share with you (both personal and guitar-wise) but one thing at a time. First I want to give you a sweet lead guitar guitar lick from Gaby Soule.  It's one of those "wow" sounding licks that's not too complicated to play.  It's all pentatonics and it uses a rhythmic groupic of 5 notes.  Have fun with this one.  Don't hurt yourself lol. HOT LEAD LICK OF THE DAY The tabs make it easy to play. When I think about it, tabs are really one of the ultimate ways to "cheat" at guitar. I say this because first of all, in the "old days", there was no such thing as tabs, you had to actually read music and find the notes yourself on the neck. But more importantly, you don't have to invent anything.  All the guesswork is removed. Just play the notes. Keep in mind, the tabs need to be ACCURATE (which is the problem with a lot of stuff you find online these days). So, find some accurate tabs, sit down, calm your mind, and work out some nice sounds.  State of mind is really important too, something I still have to work on myself. More on that another time. Another way to "cheat" is, well, quite frankly, buy some DVDs that give you all the information bundled into a neat little package, so you are learning from better players, and not wasting countless hours doing "research".
