Dog Chases Ambulance Carrying His Human

When a homeless man in Brazil had an epileptic seizure, his dog Spike wasn't about to let him out of his sight. When the ambulance carrying the man headed to the emergency room, Spike chased after it. Eventually, the paramedics stopped to let Spike aboard. Benjamin Linus, a rabbit model, knows how to do top-level cosplay. Last year, he was the star of a 12-month calendar showing him dressed as famous movie characters. This year, Benjamin took up television roles, including Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie, Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, and Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City.

What should he do next year? Maybe famous singers and performers? I'd love to see Benjamin in a Lady Gaga outfit.

Amazing Video: Hawk Flies Through Dense Forest

This wonderful footage captured with a camera mounted on a Northern Goshawk flying through a densely wooded area is being used by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) as an illustration of in-development unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology. The new project, named the Fast Lightweight Autonomy program, involves UAVs compact enough to fit through windows to fly up to 45 miles per hour, all the while making their way through hard-to-navigate indoor spaces without the aid of GPS points or other communications.

Much like robotics, it's often the case that developing technology is based on the incredible movement of animals; mechanics modeled upon nature.

In the latest issue of Us Weekly magazine, celebrated cool guy and chef Anthony Bourdain shares twenty-five facts about himself, in his own words. Bourdain reveals that he's bitter that he's not of Italian heritage, and loves to cook pasta. His favorite movie, therefore, makes sense: Scorcese's Goodfellas. 

"I believe Goodfellas to be the perfect American film. Every shot. Every line. Every action. Perfect."

Hospital Puts Newborn Babies in Christmas Stockings

Babies born on December 25th are the best Christmas gifts of all! When they're born at the Magee-Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, nurses put them in Christmas stockings. They're not hung over fireplaces. That would probably be carrying the theme to far. But this is a nice gift to the tired and anxious parents of newborns.

Man Taken to Hospital after Glorious Victory in Eggnog Chugging Contest

In his 1910 speech "Citizenship in a Republic," Theodore Roosevelt expressed so perfectly the task of pursuing greatness:

It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.

Ryan Loche of Lehi, Utah knows both victory and the price of it. He, like Roosevelt's man in the arena, dared greatly. Loche's task was to drink an entire quart of eggnog faster than anyone else at an office Christmas party. Loche did so in a mere 12 seconds, besting his nearest competition by 10 seconds.

For his triumphant victory, Loche won a $50 gift certificate at a steakhouse and a trip to the hospital. Unfortunately, some of the eggnog went into his lungs. Loche spent a day in intensive care and two more days of recovery at the hospital. It was a full week before he felt well again. But here he is, smiling through his wounds, having acquired fame and glory that live on after him.

Comedian Robbie Sherrard's advice applies equally well to wives. When you're in a relationship, it's very important to not screw up. You can accomplish a lot in life by not screwing up. It's just hard to do that when it's time to shop for gifts. Whatever you purchase, Sherrard explains, will be misinterpreted against you. For example, last year, he bought his girlfriend an electric toothbrush. She promptly broke up with him because she reasoned that Sherrard was saying that she has bad teeth.

He didn't make that mistake this year. This year, Sherrard got precisely what his girlfriend (presumably a new one) asked for. This video was uploaded on December 23. Hopefully he provides us with an update on her response.

Celebrating the holidays with your virtual family is an annual tradition for TV junkies like myself, but this year was sorely lacking in new Christmas episodes, especially in the sitcom world. so I had to go digging in the vaults.

Here are ten Christmas episodes from classic sitcoms of yesteryear, to remind us how good Yuletide sitcom episodes used to be.

1. 3rd Rock From The Sun- Jolly Old St. Dick (1996)-

What could be wackier than a bunch of aliens pretending to be a normal human family? How about a bunch of aliens pretending to be a normal human family at Christmastime! It's 3rd Rock, it's a Christmas episode, it's hilarious!

2. Married With Children- You Better Watch Out (1991)- 

Remember how amazing it was to see real life Santas doing amazing stunts and tricks when you were a kid? This episode of Married...With Children will show you how one minor mishap in a Santa stunt will scar you for life!

3. Square Pegs - A Child's Christmas In Weemawee (1982)-

Do you remember that totally radical sitcom from the early 80s called Square Pegs? If not don't worry, because Square Pegs only lasted for a season, and is probably best known for launching the career of Sarah Jessica Parker, but it was a real gem of a show. 

Watch this Christmas episode and, like, let those nostalgiac holiday vibes flow, man!

4. Newhart- No Room At The Inn (1982)-

Dick and Joanna can't wait to celebrate their first Christmas in Vermont, but a snowstorm leaves them, and all their guests, stuck indoors. Can deadpan Dick keep from cracking a smile at the absurdity of it all when a guy named Joseph and his pregnant wife show up looking for a room?

5. Alf- Alf's Special Christmas (1987)-

Aside from the lyrics to Alf's Christmas carols this two-parter is pretty darn uplifiting, and a real tear jerker. Alf and the fam head to a cabin in the woods for Christmas, and during their that mischievous alien life form wanders off and finds himself face-to-face with a lesson in what it means to be human.

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll believe an alien can disguise himself as a doctor simply by wearing a face mask!

6. The Facts Of Life- Christmas In The Big House (1984)-

The girls and Misses Garrett find themselves with a captive audience for Christmas, as they head to the local prison and put on a holiday show for the inmates. If you like singing, dancing and snappy one liners this is the episode for you!

7. TAXI- A Full House For Christmas (1980)-

The TAXI theme song has always sounded rather sad to me, and the show's introspective, and often downright dark, perspective was a breath of fresh air in a world full of sappy sitcoms.

However, this is one of the only times when sadness is actually the episode's theme, which really works for a Christmas episode, because everyone can relate to someone having a case of the holiday humbugs.

8. Laverne & Shirley- O Come All Ye Bums (1978)-

Laverne and Shirley are nothing if not kind and caring, and in this special Christmas episode they prove how far they're willing to go to lend a hand to those in need when they agree to help some of Milwaukee's less fortunate. Plus, we get to see Lenny and Squiggy dressed up like elves!

9. NewsRadio- Xmas Story (1995)-

Dave and the crew at WNYX aren't your typical sitcom family, so it goes without saying that their Christmas episode would be a bit unusual. Bill is being stalked by a killer Santa, Mr. James is in a mighty generous mood, and poor little Matthew is left out of all the fun.

10. Punky Brewster- Christmas Shoplifting (1985)-

Punky and her friend Cherie learn a valuable lesson about the price paid for shoplifting in this very informative episode that co-stars a slightly more grown up Peter Billingsley, aka Ralphie from A Chrismas Story! Punky learns a lesson, Santa is behind bars, and 80s kids were warned against the seemingly easy crime of shoplifting.
