Unlikely Match-Up: Nicholas St. North vs. Krampus With Christmas so close at hand, we thought this match-up particularly fitting. Today two figures associated with up-coming holiday do battle. Nicholas St. North, also known as Santa Claus, is the Guardian of Wonder from the film "Rise of the Guardians," which was inspired by the Guardians of Childhood books. He's a skilled toymaker and craftsman who can work magic into anything he builds. North is also a master swordsman whose size and skill make him a foe that few would want to face. In contrast to North, Krampus is a demonic entity born from the folklore of Alpine countries. Invoked around the winter holidays, Krampus is said to capture naughty children in his sack and carry them away to his lair. He has all the appearance of a terrifying demon, and we do not doubt that he possesses some of their frightening abilities as well! Does Father Christmas have what it takes to beat this yuletide demon, or is Krampus one terrifying tradition that will be sticking around for good this holiday season? You decide!
