We stood with the people of New York for an outright ban on fracking, when most thought it was impossible to win. This victory is because of the years of education, mobilization and advocacy work done by Food & Water Watch as a co-founding member of New Yorkers Against Fracking, and the strong network of allies and grassroots activists in New York.
- We helped launch the national movement to ban fracking by being the first national organization to call for a ban and by refusing to accept weak and unsafe regulations. Now, more than 200 organizations stand with Americans Against Fracking, a network of groups fighting for a ban with a unified voice.
- Our comprehensive research¹ helps counteract the lies being spread by the oil and gas industry's PR machine and expose the truth about the very real impacts that fracking has on our drinking water and our health.
- We have staff in 16 states working to ban fracking across the country. So far, we've helped pass more than 440 measures to stop fracking locally.

- Our policy staff worked with Congressmembers Pocan (WI-2) and Schakowsky (IL-9) to introduce a bill to ban fracking on public lands — the strongest piece of federal legislation against fracking to date.
