Launching Today: Join This Awesome Fight to Ban Fracking Everywhere Get Involved and Support "Buy This Fracking Album" Today! Dear Indiana, Six years ago, we were told over and over and over again that banning fracking in New York was impossible —but organizers, fracktivists and groups like Food & Water Watch didn't believe it, and with our collective work, we BANNED fracking in New York.
I made the documentaries Gasland and Gasland II because I believe art plays an important role in getting more people involved in the efforts to fight for a sustainable future.
That’s why now I'm super excited to announce the launch of a new project with Movement Music Records and Food & Water Watch called Buy This Fracking Album. I've donated my banjo rendition of the Star Spangled Banner to the album because my entire world has been rocked by the amazing movement of fractivists, and I want to give back and help get even more people involved.
Will you join me in supporting this anti-fracking music project, and be one of the first to get a copy of this album?
I love Food & Water Watch. When no one else would stand up and call for a BAN on fracking, they did.
When families whose water was contaminated by fracking were abandoned by the EPA, Food & Water Watch called for justice.
When citizens in heavily fracked states like Pennsylvania and Colorado were told by other groups that a ban on fracking was crazy, Food & Water Watch started statewide efforts to fight for what is needed to protect those families.
That's why I'm so happy that they're helping spread the movement to ban fracking even further by helping get this album out.
In addition to my song, more than 20 other artists — including Bonnie Raitt, Rusted Root, Pete Seeger and the Indigo Girls — have all donated songs to the album, because this is one of the biggest issues of our time. But we need the support of people like you to make sure this album can get out, and to spread this important message to the world.
Can you contribute today to help make Buy This Fracking Album? If you can, I have donated some signed copies of Gasland as one of the incredible incentives you can receive in exchange for your help.
When we fight for what we want with courage and partners like Food & Water Watch, we can win.
In Solidarity,
Josh Fox Musician, Filmmaker, Activist, Food & Water Watch Supporter
