We are starting the new week on a higher note as bargain hunters nibble away in the aftermath of last Friday's surge in U.S. employment. and the resulting sell of in the metals complex.....
In late morning London trading we find Silver up 12 cents to $15.98......Gold is $9.00 higher at $1174.00 per ounce.....Palladium sits at $825.00, a gain of $5.00......Platinum is $1157.00 off $3.00........
The Euro currency is managing to lift its head off of the boxing ring canvas after last Friday's Dollar induced beating....The strong employment data sent the Greenback sharply higher against its European counterpart...Last trade $1.0896 up a little more than a half cent....
In global stock market activity; Asia closed mostly lower on the back of a weak Japanese GDP report.....The exception was Shanghai which jumped to the tune of 1.88% in the face of the softer Japanese data......In Europe prices are lower across the board by roughly 0.5%....It appears European investors are a bit nervous in the wake of last Friday's U.S.stock market meltdown....The Dow ended the final trading day of the week plummeting 279 points....This morning the Dow looks to open flat to down 17 points....With no fresh U.S. economic news to guide things, I will sign off here....That's it...
