Unlikely Likely Match-Up: Thrymr vs. Surtr Two powerful giants, both enemies of Asgard, clash in today's match-up. Thrymr is said to be king of the Jotunn. He is credited with having once stolen Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, in order to blackmail the gods into giving him the goddess Freyja. In most pop culture, Thrymr is depicted as a massive frost giant who rules over ice and winter. He is also a powerful warrior possessed of great strength, as shown by his ability to lift Mjolnir. Surtr, while also a Jotunn, is a giant of a different kind. Often shown as a fire giant or a demon of some kind, Surtr is an important figure who factors heavily into the Norse theme of Ragnarok. In battle, Surtr is said to wield a bright, flaming sword, and such is his prowess that he is capable of killing the god Freyr. When giants like this meet, the earth is sure to tremble! But if these two could put aside their war with Asgard and instead battle with one another, who would win? Ice or fire? Vote Now Do you have an idea for an Unlikely Match-Up you would like to see?
