Is this a winning streak?

free press action fund

Hi Jason,

It's official: The Comcast mega-merger is dead!

You might think that with the death of this deal and real Net Neutrality rules passed, we can take a breather and coast for a while. But at Free Press we have bigger ambitions.

These victories are huge. But they're the floor — not the ceiling — of what we can achieve in the fight for your rights to connect and communicate.

Comcast spent $21 million on lobbying in a failed attempt to push its takeover of Time Warner Cable. The company lost, thanks in large part to activists like you.

Imagine what's possible if each of our nearly one million members kicked in just $21?

Give $21 (or more!) today to the Free Press Action Fund and help keep our winning streak alive.

Here's how we aim to use your gift this summer:

- Contributing to the legal battle to defend Net Neutrality
- Defending the Net Neutrality rules from further congressional and industry attacks
- Fighting the reauthorization of Section 215 of the Patriot Act, which allows for bulk data collection
- Placing our Internet rights front and center during the 2016 election cycle
- Piloting a project to boost the quality of local news by uniting dynamic networks of community members, civic organizations and journalists

With your help, we'll make sure the public has a powerful voice in all of these issues and that our opponents know we’re here for good.

And, yes, we'll continue to stay independent by not taking a cent from business, political parties or the government — just from folks like you and a few charitable foundations.

With thanks,

Mary Alice, Carrie and the rest of the Free Press Action Fund team
