| The study that disproves the pause in global warming used more data to fill in the blanks of the previous study and found there was no pause. The results support the four-arm model of our galaxy's spiral structure. For the last few years, various methods of charting the Milky Way have largely led to a picture of four spiral arms. The arms are where most stars in the galaxy are born. They are stuffed with gas and dust, the ingredients of stars. Two of the arms, called Perseus and Scutum-Centaurus, seem to be more prominent and jam-packed with stars, while the Sagittarius and Outer arms have as much gas as the other two arms but not as many stars. Shape of Milky Way Galaxy A research team created a Si quantum dot (QD)-based hybrid inorganic/organic light-emitting diode (LED) that emits white-blue electroluminescence, Hiroshima University reported. The hybrid LED is expected to provide flexible lighting and displays, and it was developed through a simple method. Almost all of the processes used in the development were solution-based and conducted at ambient temperature and pressure. In the process, the team deposited conductive polymer solutions and a colloidal Si QD solution onto a glass substrate. An artists impression of plasma tubes in the Earths magnetosphere. NOAA researchers were able to use new data, on global warming, released last year from the International Surface Temperature Initiative databank. They were also able to collect valuable data from ocean buoys and found a discrepancy in the ship collecting procedures. Climate experts who are relatively less worried about warming said this new paper is a welcome change of tone because it was willing to point out a benefit of warming, but they are still skeptical of the study. Scientists have made a breakthrough in illumination using silicon quantum dot-based white-blue LED. Study co-author Buwen Dong also argues that the costs of warming outweigh the benefits even though his study found additional rainfall in drought-stricken Africa.
