Dear Indiana,

Now that AT&T's purchase of DIRECTV is a done deal, it's time to see what the company -- now the largest pay-TV provider in the world -- has in store. The first announcement was a merger of DIRECTV's advertising platform into AdWorks. This week, AT&T rolled out nationwide TV and wireless bundles, reflecting the kind of synergies created by combining the two businesses.

T-Mobile has consistently been in the headlines for its disruptive Un-Carrier strategy and capturing the vast majority of post-paid growth in the U.S. market, but are consumers happy with their service? The answer is yes, according to the latest J.D. Power study. In fact, T-Mobile beat out its competitors to take the top spot in the Wireless Customer Care study.

Mobile network operators are busy rolling out LTE and LTE-Advanced networks around the globe, but the next iteration in wireless, 5G, is creeping closer. Alcatel-Lucent is one company that is driving innovation in 5G, thanks in large part to Bell Labs. AlcaLu recently completed the 5GNOW project, which was awarded the highest scientific honor by the European Commission.

Best,
