Unlikely Match-Up: Selene vs. Blade These two fighters share more than a few similarities. Selene, a hybrid far stronger than normal vampires, has spent centuries as a Death Dealer, hunting down the Lycans she believed were responsible for her family's death. Her status as a vampire hybrid, however, gives her far greater strength, speed, and special skills than that of a normal vampire. She can not only walk during the daytime, she also heals incredibly quickly. Her years of experience as a hunter and warrior allow her to wield swords, handguns, and throwing knives and stars with deadly efficiency and without mercy. Blade is also not a pure vampire, but a thirty-something dhampir, half-human, half-vampire. He often chooses to abstain from drinking blood, contrary to what his Thirst demands, and instead subsists on a serum. On this drug, his strength is on par with the average vampire, but after having fed on blood, his strength allows him to stand up to some of the most formidable creatures on the planet. But strength alone does not a warrior make, as Blade knows. He wields his sword with enough skill to make up for it, fighting on the level of some of the finest swordsmen of all time, and supplements this with a stake-firing shotgun. With the exception of the Thirst, he has none of the weaknesses which vampires have, and is immune to silver, garlic, and sunlight, meaning Selene's silver-plated throwing knives won't poison him fatally. Nor will Blade's stakes be able to kill Selene by sheer virtue of being stakes, though their force of impact might get the job done if aimed correctly. Each of these two part-vampires will have to rely on their combat skills to kill the other. Which one will succeed? Will Blade spell sundown for Selene with his sheer ferocity, or will Selene's greater experience be too much for the dhampir?
