Call Now! Tell your Senators to pass a strong child nutrition bill.

Dear Friend,

Children are back in school, and the Senate is back is session. Now's the time to urge your senators to make child nutrition their #1 priority.

We hear a child nutrition bill is starting to move, so we have to act now. We need your voice to join thousands of passionate supporters like yourself during our National Call-in Day.

We are fighting to get food to kids that need it — when they need it — no matter where they live.

Through our food banks, we often hear stories about kids who no longer have breakfast and lunch every day simply because it's summer and school is out. We hear about kids going without meals because their families live in rural communities or lack transportation options and can't get their kids to summer meal sites. We hear about program operators who are bogged down with administrative red tape and paperwork for two different programs that ultimately serve the same kids.

We can fix all of this, but we need your voice to make it happen. Help us to break down the barriers to food access for kids. You can make sure that no kids in America ever go hungry. Right now, all it takes is a phone call.

Please join us. Call your Senators today!

  1. Just dial our toll free number, (888) 398-8702 and listen to the pre-recorded message.
  2. Enter your zip code and choose to speak with your first senator.
  3. Once you are connected, state that you are a constituent and give your name and the town you are calling from.
  4. Let the office know you are calling about Child Nutrition Reauthorization and deliver this simple message:

As my senator, I urge you to pass a child nutrition bill that invests in programs that feed kids and does no harm to the current bill. Please show your support for summer meal programs by co-sponsoring the Hunger Free Summer for Kids Act (S. 1966) and the Summer Meals Act (S. 613).

  5. Dial back in so you speak with both of your senators.
