A Party to Murder by Marcia Kash and Douglas E. Hughes

A Party to Murder is a full-length Agatha Christie-style whodunnit by Marcia Kash and Douglas E. Hughes. Six people have come in secret on Halloween to play a murder mystery game at a rustic island cottage.

Invited by writer Charles Prince, they appear set for a weekend of fun until ghosts from the past begin to haunt the proceedings and it becomes clear that all is not as it seems. The game takes on a sinister dimension when guests begin to die and the remaining players realize that they are playing for their lives. Tension rises. Secret passageways, incriminating letters, hidden compartments, bodies in the window seat and a twenty five year old unsolved mystery twist and turn toward the unexpected and terrifying conclusion.

A Party to Murder received its premiere in 1996 , and has since been produced dozens of times in Canada, the United States and the U.K – where it toured in 2006.

Evil Dead: The Musical by George Reinblatt

Outer Critics Circle nomination for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical

Evil Dead is a full-length musical comedy by George Reinblatt. Based on Sam Raimi's 80s cult classic films, Evil Dead tells the tale of 5 college kids who travel to a cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force. And although it may sound like a horror, it's not! The songs are hilariously campy and the show is bursting with more farce than a Monty Python skit.

Evil Dead: The Musical unearths the old familiar story: boy and friends take a weekend getaway at abandoned cabin, boy expects to get lucky, boy unleashes ancient evil spirit, friends turn into Candarian Demons, boy fights until dawn to survive. As musical mayhem descends upon this sleepover in the woods, "camp" takes on a whole new meaning with uproarious numbers like "All the Men in my Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons," "Look Who's Evil Now" and "Do the Necronomicon."

Horror Screenwriting: The Nature of Fear by Devin Watson

Before Jigsaw, there was Freddy Krueger (Nightmare On Elm Street ) and Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th ). Before those two were slicing and dicing up teenagers, there was Michael Myers and Leatherface. And long before that, there was Dracula, the Wolfman, Doctor Frankenstein and his monster. And so on into the dark and distant past.

Horror has, among all of the genres in film and written works, one of the longest, most distinguished, and often misunderstood bloodlines in history. It is often overlooked by critics who don't see anything more than blood and guts on the screen, or a collection of cheap scares. But there is far more to it than that!

Horror Screenwriting: The Nature of Fear is a unique screenwriting guide, which will teach you all the secrets of writing in this powerful and enduring story form.
