The meeting will test whether President Xi Jinping has the political capital to force through reforms that have met with resistance in the past. Apple Bids To Shape 'Future Of TV' The Cupertino, California tech giant will launch the fourth iteration of its Apple TV set-top device Monday. With the product, Apple will be throwing the door open to app developers, in the hope that an ecosystem will develop similar to one that has seen a rich variety of third-party apps available for its iPhone. CEO Tim Cook has also hinted that the company could get into the content-production business. Valeant Faces Grilling In Investor Call The Canadian pharmaceutical company saw its stock price plunge 35 percent last week, amid allegations of impropriety in its accounting and other business practices. The company is hoping to dispel investors' doubts with a conference call set to begin before the U.S. equity market opens Monday, but will have some difficult questions to answer to win back the market's confidence. IMF Set To Give China's Yuan Reserve-Currency Status The International Monetary Fund is likely to green-light the inclusion of China's yuan in its benchmark currency basket in the near future. The IMF's endorsement would allow reformers within the Chinese government to argue that the country's shift toward a more market-based economy is bearing fruit. What you missed last night. European Regulator Flagged Emissions Cheating In 2013 The continent's top environmental regulator raised concerns over automakers cheating on emissions tests more than two years before the Volkswagen scandal broke, according to internal European Commission documents.  GM Strike Averted By Tentative Deal The automaker reached a tentative deal with the United Auto Workers Union, just minutes before a strike deadline was set to expire. The union said the deal, few details of which have been released, secured "significant gains and job security protections." Union leaders and the membership will have to vote to approve the proposal before it is formally accepted. USAA Ditches MasterCard For Visa The move will see one of the largest card issuers in the U.S. end its 30-year relationship with MasterCard. Such a move is rare in the industry but underscores the leverage that card issuers can hold over payment networks as they negotiate long-term deals. Poland's Conservatives Triumph In Election The euroskeptic Law and Justice party has won enough votes to secure an absolute parliamentary majority, according to exit polls.
