How Jack Dorsey will run two companies simultaneously
Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has been named the social network's CEO -- but will also retain the top job at mobile payments company Square. That puts Dorsey alongside leaders such as Steve Jobs and Elon Musk, who have helmed two companies simultaneously. "Like Jobs and Musk, Dorsey might need a little bit of luck, hard work, and a whole lot of genius," writes Julia Greenberg.

Midsize firms need big social presence, Ogilvy chairman says
Midsize businesses should integrate social strategy across core business functions to understand their customers and how their brands are perceived, Ogilvy Public Relations Global Chairman Christopher Graves says. That goes for business-to-business companies as well, which can benefit from the level of targeting social enables. "It's actually even more effective in many cases in B2B," Graves says.

Twitter's much-anticipated Project Lightning has reportedly evolved into Moments, a service that culls videos, images and tweets around events much like Snapchat Stories. Unlike Snapchat, Twitter will combine user submissions with content from mainstream outlets and allow media companies to create their own packages.

Why teens are hooked on social media
Eighth-graders who participated in a CNN-backed study of social media habits cited a desire to see whether their posts were being liked or commented on as a primary driver for compulsive social media checking. "There is fear in putting yourself out there on social media," study co-author Marion Underwood says.

Warty goblins and bloodshot eyes? It must be pumpkin season
Gourd farming's busy season is right now, as Americans try to outdo each other with the ugliest and weirdest-looking gourds for Halloween. Among this year's top creations: the knobbly orange-and-green Warty Goblin and the white-and-red One Too Many, inspired by bloodshot eyes. "You want each item to have its own character. As a farmer, it's glorious fun," says Charles Martin of Virginia.
