ACTION ALERT Tell the Next President to Fix the Food System Dear UCS supporter, A new poll released today shows that Americans get it: our food system is broken and needs to be fixed. The vast majority of Americans from all political stripes are concerned that one-third of American children are expected to develop type-2 diabetes and live shorter lives than their parents. These developments are largely the result of a food system that is out of balance, favoring the production of junk food, degrading our natural resources, and destroying the American dream for farmers and food system workers. It doesn't have to be this way. Today's food system was put in place and guarded by industry lobbyists who prioritize profits over the health of people and the environment. It's time to demand leadership to counter special interests and fix our food system. Tell the next president to put this issue at the top of the agenda and commit to fixing our food system.
