Designed by Peter Banner, Park Street Church boasts a 217-foot steeple which was once the first landmark travelers saw when approaching Boston. Park Street Church was well known for supporting Abolitionist causes, and "My Country 'Tis of Thee" was sung for the first time on July 4, 1831 on the steps of the Church. Still active in Boston as a Congregationalist church, Park Street Church continues to hold weekly religious services. On Sunday, December 13, the Church will host the annual Park Street Christmas: A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols featuring special music by the Sanctuary Choir and 50-piece Park Street Orchestra. | | | | | Paul Revere House Expansion Project The Paul Revere Memorial Association is in its final phase of an exciting $4 million expansion project that will transform the Paul Revere House visitor experience. The new expansion makes the Paul Revere House fully accessible and includes an Education and Visitor Center in an abutting 1835 building, which will significantly increase dedicated program space, and add modern amenities and sheltered gathering places for orientation, as well as exhibition and office spaces. Additionally, the courtyard and gardens have been redesigned with paving patterns that reflect the evolution of the historic site, original cobble paths uncovered during archaeological excavations, accurate 18th-century plantings, and interpretive signage. The gardens provide a green oasis for visitors to share insight into 18th-century urban gardens and their uses, and enjoy programmatic opportunities. Please visit Paul Revere House website for information on and to support this impressive expansion project. | | | | USS Constitution Museum Exhibits and Events The USS Constitution is bustling this November with exciting exhibits and events.
