A low data-usage version of Facebook available in 150 countries on Android has reached the 100 million user mark. The Facebook Lite app is designed for feature phones and lower-end smartphones in countries where Internet speeds are lagging.

Unilever has launched a digital and social campaign called #100PorCientoTu that spotlights influencers within the Hispanic community. The brand is also sponsoring Latin music concerts. "We want to celebrate the diversity and dynamism of the Latino community in the US, especially among millennials, whose identity is deeply tied to their culture, self-image and aspirations," Unilever's Claudia Trujillo said.

J.C. Penney and Kohl's have tapped live-streaming on Periscope to fuel social conversation and extend the reach of campaigns. Kohl's Oscars Periscope party pulled in 200,000 views, and J.C. Penney live-streamed celebrity-hosted parties at two stores to show consumers why it's worth physically visiting a store as opposed to buying online.
