Major stock markets across the Asia-Pacific were all drifting with a narrow 1 percent range Friday, a day ahead of China releasing key data sets. The world's second-largest economy will announce two important indicators — retail sales and industrial production — Saturday. The news will likely further polarize protests on Sunday calling for her to be impeached. Da Silva's lawyer branded the move an "attempt to muzzle a political leader."

Other transfers the thieves had requested totaling around $870 million were stopped, but they still managed to steal around $80 million.
