| Tell ExxonMobil and Chevron to stop funding climate science disinformation. Challenge Climate Science Disinformation Amplify our efforts at upcoming fossil fuel company annual meetings: Tell ExxonMobil and Chevron to stop funding special interest groups that peddle disinformation about climate science to policy makers. | ACTION ALERT Tell ExxonMobil and Chevron to Clean Up Their Climate Science Deception
Dear UCS supporter,
Next week ExxonMobil and Chevron are holding their annual shareholders meetings—and we're going to be there to challenge them directly over their decades of deception about climate science!
These meetings come on the heels of UCS receiving a letter from members of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee demanding that we turn over documentation about our work to expose ExxonMobil's history of deception on global warming.
But we won't back down to harassment by the oil industry's allies in Congress! We are unapologetic about our efforts to expose the decades of deception by fossil fuel companies about the reality and risks of climate change and our efforts to hold companies accountable for their actions.
Help us send that message loud and clear next week as corporate decision makers gather in person: urge ExxonMobil and Chevron to stop funding disinformation about climate science.
ExxonMobil claims that, "We do not fund or support those who deny the reality of climate change." Chevron says that it shares our concerns about "climate change risks and recognizes that the use of fossil fuels to meet the world's energy needs is a contributor to rising greenhouse gas emissions in the earth's atmosphere."
But actions speak louder than words. ExxonMobil and Chevron are members of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a special interest group that peddles disinformation about climate science to policy makers and seeks to roll back the policies we need to reduce global warming emissions. Tell ExxonMobil and Chevron, on the eve of their meetings with shareholders, to stop funding ALEC today.
I'll be in Texas next week at the ExxonMobil meeting, and my colleague, Deborah Moore, will be in California at the Chevron meeting. We will each be joined by a climate scientist who can speak to shareholders and board members face-to-face about the state of the science on global warming and the consequences of their business practices on people around the world.
Let us represent your voices as well: demand ExxonMobil and Chevron stop funding climate deception and sever ties with ALEC.
 Sincerely,
